The List: Memorial Day Weekend Activities

The official kickoff of summer is here, and you’ll find plenty of Memorial Day Weekend fun at Russell Lands On Lake Martin! From two evenings of live music to what you need for boating, body, mind and soul—the forecast is calling for sunny and warm at the lake, and we’ve go plenty for you to enjoy!
RXR Fest 6

The Town Green at Russell Crossroads

The sixth annual RXR Fest brings together an outstanding lineup to the Town Green for two evenings. You will not want to miss a single note! Grab all of your friends from town, country, or the lake and gather on the Town Green at Russell Crossroads for a great time and some excellent music. We’ll start the music each night at 6pm and wrap it all up about 9:30pm.

As you know, wine is something which is best when shared. Exploring new releases, varietals and winemakers is a great way to expand your personal knowledge of wine. At our Friday evening wine tastings, you can accomplish both and have a heck of a good time doing it. The tastings are usually well-stocked with tables full of friends, conversation, and laughter. The tasting is only $5, and you’ll receive 15% off of wine purchases from that night’s selections. How cool is that?
Yoga On The Green

Raptors on Display
A long-time raptor expert and former Auburn University eagle trainer, our own Naturalist Marianne will be bringing a couple of these amazing creatures to Russell Crossroads Memorial Day Weekend.

Naturalist Cabin at Russell Crossroads
Marianne will have LIVE BIRDS in the Naturalist Cabin to show off their amazing features and to discuss the variety of species living in Russell Forest. We will discuss ways you can attract certain types of birds to your yard, and what to do if you’re trying to discourage them from nesting or destroying your property. This is a great opportunity to see a hawk and an owl up close! Bring your bird questions and your camera!
Guided Nature Tour
We will explore two separate habitats in Russell Forest during this slow-paced walk through the woods. As we move from one area to the next, the variety of flora and fauna specific to each region will be examined, discussed, and enjoyed!

Sunday Night Supper is a family-style dinner that is slightly different from normal dinner service, with only one seating time. Doors open for cocktails and mingling at 6:00 pm with food served at 6:30 pm. We will limit these dinners to 80 guests.
