Meet The Mammals

Just because we’re mammals doesn’t mean we know everything there is to know about other mammals. Discover new insights on the mammals in our diverse animal kingdom with Marianne, our resident Naturalist. Bring the kids for a fun-filled, up-close-and-personal experience with some of our favorite mammals.

Be sure to stick around after Marianne’s talk, as we’ll be releasing several orphaned opossums back into their natural habitat in Russell Forest. Don’t miss this FREE opportunity to see our resident wildlife happy, healthy and heading back into the wild!

If you’re looking for an activity that’s a bit more adventurous, join Marianne for a Guided Nature Tour through Russell Forest. The nearly two-hour tour is both good exercise and enlightening – with a search for our animal friends that live in and around the creek. Insect repellent and sunscreen are provided. Please bring drinking water and comfortable shoes. Ages 5 – 105 welcome! $10 per person and advance registration is required. For all Guided Nature Tours: We recommend that participants have a moderate fitness level and be able to stand or walk for at least two hours. Walking pace will be relaxed with frequent stops. Comfortable, seasonally appropriate clothing and shoes are advised. Binoculars and cameras are welcome. Please note: there are no bathrooms on the Forest Trails.
