Kick off summer with a fun-filled Memorial Day Weekend

The official kickoff of summer is here, and you’ll find plenty of Memorial Day Weekend fun at Russell Lands On Lake Martin! From three evenings of live music to what you need for boating, body, mind and soul. And, don’t let James Spann dampen your plans this weekend. We’ve got you covered—with a big tent at RXR Fest!

The fifth annual RXR Fest brings together an outstanding lineup, and, this year, a little more blues, funk and soul will fill the Town Green for three evenings. You will not want to miss a single note! Grab all of your friends from town, country, or the lake and gather on the Town Green at Russell Crossroads for a great time and some excellent music. We’ll start the music each night at 6pm and wrap it all up about 9:30pm.

As you know, wine is something which is best when shared. Exploring new releases, varietals and winemakers is a great way to expand your personal knowledge of wine. At our Friday evening wine tastings, you can accomplish both and have a heck of a good time doing it. The tastings are usually well-stocked with tables full of friends, conversation, and laughter. The tasting is only $5, and you’ll receive 15% off of wine purchases from that night’s selections. How cool is that?

The Russell Crossroads Community Garden Club will hold the season’s first Pancake Breakfast of the season Memorial Day Weekend. Saturday morning, May 26, from 8–10am, members of the Community Garden Club will be serving their famous pancakes hot off the griddle. Bring your family for breakfast. It’s a great way to start a perfect Saturday in the Lake Martin area. We’ll have the butter and syrup plus your favorite breakfast drinks (coffee, juice, etc.). Cost is $5 (cash please) and supports the Garden Club. See you Saturday morning!
Raptors on Display
A long-time raptor expert and former Auburn University eagle trainer, our own Naturalist Marianne will be bringing a couple of these amazing creatures to Russell Crossroads Memorial Day Weekend.

The Naturalist Cabin at Russell Crossroads
Marianne will have LIVE BIRDS in the Naturalist Cabin to show off their amazing features and to discuss the variety of species living in Russell Forest. We will discuss ways you can attract certain types of birds to your yard, and what to do if you’re trying to discourage them from nesting or destroying your property. This is a great opportunity to see a hawk and an owl up close! Bring your bird questions and your camera!
