Getting Some Fresh Air and Beautifying Highway 63

Published: 05.06.2020

On Friday, May 8, Russell Lands employees and friends will safely join forces to pick up litter along Alabama Highway 63 South. Twice a year, teams of volunteers get out along Highway 63 South for a few hours, pick up litter, and help beautify part of our world.

We’ve all been cooped up inside and are ready to get out, breathe some fresh air, and get some easy steps in. Participants normally meet in the back parking lot at the Russell Lands Corporate Office, but in order to maintain appropriate social distancing, there are a few drop-off points along the highway where volunteers will gather.

In addition to the normal trash pickers, work gloves, and trash bags, we will provide volunteers with disposable face masks, plastic gloves, drinks, and snacks.

For more information, or how to be involved in the future, contact Robert Gunn by phone or text at 256.496.4232 or email at [email protected].
